The Light Thiefs Daughter

A smaller geode than the last with a 15cm span. Gilded inside and out with 23 3/4 carat gold. The inside has real baroque pearl "stalagmites", matt black stone slick and pyrite formations. There are also weeny pyrite crystals in the fissures on the outside
I like the idea of leaving these geodes unfixed on the base so that the viewer can turn them however they fancy.

  1. Very nice. It seems to work on both "macro" and "micro" levels; like a small treasure, or an entire world in itself?
I agree with the quote too. Sat at my jewelry bench for the first time in a while, like an old friend that was patiently waiting for me to return. Forget how much I enjoy being distracted by small, silver shiny objects!

  2. Brita, it is funny how the shiny things captivate us. My eyes are going through the transition stage so I have to take my glasses off for the fiddly bits.
Are you going to show us what you are creating down there?

  4. Lynne, Lol, I think the Baroque corm II is a bit creepy too. One of those curly bits look a lot like a horse/cattle skull.

  5. Is it a gilded skull? I like the probing baroque pearl looking things... kind of teethy!

  7. no Pat, not meant to be a skull...it's one of my geodes, but I can see a Jack Skellington thing going on from the angle of this pic
